1.
Planted by Rivers of Water
This poem entails earthly, natural sounds like the soothing rain,
summer breezes, and soft thunder. It uses symbolism as it talks about a
tree that grew in the middle of a river and how it flourished despite
chaotic weather conditions. One of the parallels that can be drawn is
that in life, we all experience pain and hardship, but if we have a
strong mental and spiritual foundation, we will not be defeated by the
adversities that are sure to come.
2.
Celebration of Life
The music
for this poem is mid-tempo, smooth jazz, playful, vibrant, bright, and
cheerful. A peaceful summer day in the park or on the beach with
feelings of joy and happiness is what comes to mind…. Sometimes we
forget to celebrate who we are and the special qualities that make us
unique. We often look back into the past or too far into the future,
and forget to live in the present. You don’t need a degree, house,
car, or mate to be celebrated. You don’t need certain talents or
attributes to justify your self-worth. This poem encourages you to
celebrate the beauty of who you are.
3.
Get Your Life
Back
The musical
composition for this poem is powerfully rhythmic and theatrical with
light background vocals by Gweny Love & Stephen Wise. This poem lets
you know that it’s never too late for you to get back into the swing of
things and to get all that you’ve been missing. If you’ve lost yourself
to your job, mate, children, or everyday demands, this poem is sure to
empower you to retrieve what you rightfully deserve.
4.
The Winner In You
This
heavenly sounding jazzy musical accompaniment puts you in the mind of a
peaceful spring morning in the country. The poem offers an
introspective look at success. It encourages you to recognize the
inner-strength, beauty, and resilience that innately exist inside you.
You don’t need to change or alter the essence of who you are just to
please others. This poem challenges you to look at yourself in a
marvelous and positive way, not adhering to negativity or restrictions
others may have tried to impose upon you.
5.
Resting in
Paradise
This is an up-tempo, contemporary energetic musical arrangement that
lifts your spirit as the poem provides comfort for someone who is
dealing with death. It promises heaven as a resting place, as it gently
addresses mortality and the mystery thereof. A bright , hopeful ,
majestic illustration of heaven is depicted, as the hereafter is
promised to be a place where one can dwell in utmost peace.
6.
Exceptional Woman
The
instruments selected for this poem provide introspective, graceful
rhythmic waves that perfectly accentuate a poem that touches the heart
of every woman who has experienced challenges and setbacks. Despite the
obstacles, she stays focused and keeps the course. This poem is for the
single mother as well as the housewife, the corporate tycoon as well as
blue collar laborer. What comes to mind are women of various
ethnicities who’ve thrived in spite of all the odds stacked against
them. The hope is that women would hear this poem and feel encouraged
to go forth and continue fulfilling their dreams and life-purpose.

7.
No Regrets
This
up-tempo , hand slapping, foot patting, finger snapping musical
accompaniment is high-energy as it is a perfect collaboration with words
that are to inspire you to move beyond obstacles in the past. Because
of one’s previous unresolved issues , often times it is difficult to
move one with life. Being emotionally paralyzed, existing with shame
and self-hatred, living in darkness and hopelessness is a way of life
for many. If not careful, one can spiral into a deep mound of despair,
not knowing how to get on with life. The test is that one must resolve
not to remain a prisoner in his own mind and seek to create a vibrant
and hopeful life in spite of the past.
8.
Internal Strength
The music
sets the scene as you can imagine a theatrical view of steam rising up
from a creek in the middle of a forest while sitting on a large stone
overlooking nature in a meditative state. In this poem, you can imagine
pondering on life, and tapping into that spirit within, and connecting
with the God that surrounds you. In those moments you recognize your
true character and your ability to prevail in spite of challenges,
setbacks, and strongholds.
9.
Prayer for Enlightenment
Many of
us are wise enough to know that there is power in prayer. Effective
prayer allows us to be still and submit ourselves to the will of God.
That type of prayer allows us to enter a higher level of consciousness
where we expect nothing less than miracles and favorable outcomes to
occur. At that point, we find a peace within ourselves despite our
circumstances. This poem is a petition for all of mankind to exist on a
higher mental plane so that collectively we might function more at peace
with ourselves and in harmony with the natural order of the universe.
10.
Live Again
This Is A Song !
Accompanied by graceful, musical melodies, this is the only song on the
CD to finalize the journey you took from the first poem through to the
last. It reminds you that everyday is a new day and that beauty exists
only if you seek to find it. It is a sweet song that reminds you to let
your heart be free and for your mind to not be consumed with the
troubles of this world. It ends with an excerpt of Psalm 1, which is
the inspiration for the title of this CD and the first poem on it.

Psalm 1
1Blessed
is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful.
2But
his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he
meditate day and night.
3And
he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that
bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not
wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
