Overview Poetry for Peace consists of 4 initiatives: Performances, Cafés, Workshops, and Festivals. It assists participants in discovering, developing, and utilizing their gifts, talents, and abilities to leave a favorable impact on their environment, primarily in the area of peace.
Poetry for Peace Performances Such consists of exhilarating, up-beat poetry by Gweny Love to inspire, empower, and transform the minds of children and adults through poetry readings, one-woman shows, poetry concerts, choreo-poetry & speaking. Festival The Poetry for Peace Festival is the culmination of all the Poetry for Peace initiatives, as it brings together individuals who have a non-aggressive, non-partisan approach to peace. Café Through open mic poetry readings and open dialogue, Poetry for Peace Cafe' guides individuals on a path of joy, inner-peace, self-appreciation, and self-awareness. The ambiance of such encourages external peace in our homes, schools, communities, cities, and society as a whole by bringing people together of all ages, races, and religions to commune together. Workshops Poetry for Peace Workshops address issues that hinder peace by creating safe, welcoming environments conducive for open expression in efforts to combat depression, anxiety, pinned-up emotions, and aggression that often lead to negative behavior. A sense of well-being and acceptance are encouraged through tasks that involve social interaction through team projects and open discussions.
Poetry for Peace Workshops bring people together to create sub-communities where people establish new friendships and comfortable ways of expressing themselves, while improving upon their communication, writing, public speaking, and teamwork skills. |
